Rebecca’s makeover.

A Laurendoeshair.com reader from Denver recently e-mailed me with questions about her hair, and the new look she’s dying to have.

She wants Taylor Momsen’s hair (you all know Taylor, she plays Jenny Humphrey on The CW’s Gossip Girl.)

When I featured Taylor on Laurendoeshair.com a while back, Rebecca commented and asked me if that look would work for her and her hair type.

She e-mailed me a few photos, not wanting to use her own photos, or what her hair looks like right now.

Rebecca's "before" hair looks like this

And here are a few photos of Taylor’s rockin’ hair:

Curled and slightly messy-- in a good way!

…And Taylor’s hair naturally, to get a good look on how she styles it and what it has done for her:

So basically, I’ve come to the conclusion that it is VERY possible for Rebecca to acheive this look through her stylist, with the right directions and products. Taylor’s before and after makeover proves it. Taylor and Rebecca both have fine, straight, blonde natural hair… The question is, do you want to wear it straight or curly?

Wearing it straight is easy for Rebecca– let it dry naturally and finesse it with a flat iron (and a protective spray before, of course)or blow it out straight to add a bit of volume, and then flat iron it a bit at the ends (again, with protective spray first!)

Wearing it curly can be achieved different ways. Some ladies with fine hair are able to scrunch it with a scrunching spray, some have to use a curling iron or a flat iron for some waves.

I did find a photo of Taylor on set with rollers in her hair, leading me to believe that she uses them a lot. It is pretty easy! Just slip in some velcro rollers (medium or large sized) when your hair is 80% dry, let them dry, spray, and voila!

Taylor's secret? Rollers.
